Care BC (also known as “The Health and Home Care Society of BC”) is pleased to announce that we are now operating the North Shore Meals on Wheels (MOW) program, in addition to delivering Western and Chinese MOW in Vancouver and Richmond.
We would like to welcome the North Shore MOW program clients, volunteers and staff and thank them and their previous Board for their diligent service in providing this essential program over many decades. The North Shore Meals on Wheels Society was incorporated in 1978 and made the decision to dissolve their Society in April 2021.
Care BC will maintain the current operation of the North Shore MOW program, as closely as possible, while working to make the program more efficient administratively and sustainable for the future. Troy Steyn accepted a MOW Coordinator position with Care BC and she is continuing to be the contact for the program.
Current North Shore MOW clients and residents living on the North Shore who are interested in the service can continue using the existing North Shore MOW contact information:
As a charitable service, Care BC’s MOW programs are heavily reliant on volunteers to deliver the meals and to connect with the clients, as well as donations from the community to subsidize the cost of meals, thereby keeping them affordable. We thank all our volunteers and donors for their invaluable support!
